Horses, Horses, Horses!

It seems my life has become just that; horses, horses, horses! Oh wait, it has been that way for a long time! ;) When I take a moment to stand still, take a breath and think about it.. horses really do fully encompass my life! I have to admit that I wouldn't have it any other way... and after working outside the horse industry for almost 5 years before coming to KL, I am really feeling lucky to be one of those lucky people that gets to do what they LOVE to do for a living.
1997- Me and Appy

When I was little, which seems like a million years ago, I did little else but ride and think about riding! I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to ride almost every day and I did as much as humanly possible. I always tend to find it pretty hilarious when my Mom posts photos of me from back then (also slightly embarrassing that my nine year old self has better equitation then my 25 year old self!!). Now here I am... all those years later.. and that's still whats on my mind most hours of the day. I cant imagine having it any other way!
2013- Me and Mikey at Ludwigs

Back to the present again! I did accomplish some of the goals I had set back in August. We got to that CT show at Blue Goose (Along with Doug and Nancy!) and we all had a great outing. Everyone came home with ribbons in hand. It was a BEAUTIFUL day to be out and about. Doug rode the INTRO A Dressage test and Nancy did both the Elementary A and C CT tests/jump courses. So proud of both of them! I was really, really proud of Mikey as I thought it was by far our best, most consistent Dressage test that we have ever ridden. I don't have to ever worry much about the jumping part, even at 3' he thinks its pretty darn easy. I always stress about Dressage though!

Over Labor Day weekend we got to go to one of my all time favorite places to show, Ludwigs Corner Horse Show. They have an annual 3 day show on Labor day weekend that has been going on for 70 years.  I have been showing there since I was 3 years old, so these show grounds just hold a special place in my memories. I had decided on Chester County Hunters and the Low Working Hunter divisions. We were 4th out of 19 in the flat class for CC Hunters and then 4th and 5th over fences in the Low working with a 5th on the flat in a division of 14. I really could not have asked for a better day. Mikey was absolutely perfect and to place in such big classes made me ecstatic. When we landed off our last jump in our last jump class I had such a big smile on my face.. that horse just amazes me more every single year that I own him. He gets better and better every year and no matter what I throw at him.. be it eventing, fox hunting or back to the low and slow hunters.. he does it unquestioningly.

Few more goals to make before the end of fall! There is the Dutch Knob at the beginning of Oct, a Pace event in Unionville at the end of Sept., an event at Plantation field the first weekend in November and of course our very own show at KL mid October!

We are starting a new tradition at KL this year! I am super excited to get everyone involved in our very first Knights Landing Boarder/student show that we are having in October. It will be open to all Boarders and Students who currently ride at KL. We have a few "serious" divisions to start the day out and then lots of fun stuff planned after that. We will have everything from Jumpers, barrel racing, dollar bare back and musical stalls!
