Hi everyone! I decided to take Caitlin's lead and make up a blog as a way to tell you more about myself, share tips and articles that I find useful as well as updates about what we have going on at different times around the farm. :)
First and foremost, I am very excited to get started! I have been working in non horse jobs the past 5 years or so and missed it so much I decided to make the leap back in to it head first. Horses have encompassed just about every aspect of my life from the time I was born.
Some not so horsey things about me are that I love to read and write a great deal. At one time I was going to school as a Journalism major. I also enjoy photography and just about anything that has to do with the outdoors.

I have my own horse "Mikey", who has been with me for almost 9 years. He has been my rock, my one steady thing in life since the day he came in to my life. Mikey is a 15 year old off the track Thoroughbred whom I got as a 6 year old. His Jockey Club name is "Precious Few". If you see my car in the driveway one day, you'll notice his name graces the license plate ;)

One of these days I will do up a little blip on his story before he came to me and all the things we have accomplished over what is soon to be a decade. I have owned many other horses in my lifetime, and each and every one has taught me something both about myself and about riding in general. I had a crazy Appy who really taught me to stick to the saddle, a really great Quarterhorse/Thoroughbred who taught me that having a big heart more then compensates for not being the most athletic horse in the world, a big clumsy Thoroughbred who could jump anything and would if you pointed him at it, a whacky paint with personality PLUS,

and there are so many more... crazy ponies, silly personalities, a bunch of sale horses and all of the lesson horses I grew up with who were family and nothing less.

One thing you can all be sure of is that I have a real love for riding and for the animals that make this great sport possible for all of us! I feel horses can teach us a great deal about life and about ourselves. They have helped me become who I am today and I can not even begin to imagine growing up without them.
I have lots of new people and horses to meet starting in March and I look forward to seeing all of you!
